Weight Management for Dogs
Dogs are naturally playful, loyal, and full of energy. However, when they carry extra weight, they can become less active and more lethargic. At Maggie and Marlows in Kidderminster we’re here to help with any questions you have about your dog’s diet and weight, so don’t hesitate to ask during your next visit.
Get moving
Exercise can be a fun way to bond with your dog while helping them stay healthy. Whether you're walking your dog in your local Kidderminster park, playing in the garden, or using interactive toys, there are plenty of ways to keep your dog active and engaged.
Ideas for at-home exercise:
- Create an obstacle course: Use cushions or other household items to create a low-risk agility course for your dog.
- Play hide and seek: Hide in a room and call your dog – they’ll love using their senses to find you.
- Interactive toys: Hide treats in toys to keep your dog mentally and physically active.
- Teach a new trick: Use a portion of their daily food allowance as a reward for learning new skills.
- Rotate toys: Keep your dog interested by rotating their toys regularly.
- Play fetch: Find a space where you can play fetch – even if it’s just down a hallway.
